The 2026 Canada Cup, held August 15–16 on the Ottawa River and presented by Ottawa Kayak School at Wilderness Tours, brought together whitewater kayakers for a weekend of high-energy competition. The event featured boater cross on the legendary Lorne Rapid on Saturday, followed by a freestyle wave-surfing competition on Sunday. A major highlight was the famous Garburator Wave, one of the Ottawa River’s best-known freestyle features, renowned among paddlers for its powerful wave and huge potential for aerial tricks. With competitors pushing their skills against the river’s powerful current, the Canada Cup showcased the speed, precision and creativity that make Ottawa River whitewater kayaking a world-class sport.
