Our Lake District adventure included a visit to Kendal, a charming market town often known as the gateway to the Lakes. With its historic streets, independent shops and welcoming atmosphere, it was a lovely place to spend some time wandering around and enjoying a change of scenery. We based ourselves at Lodge in the Vale, a convenient starting point for four days of exploring this beautiful part of England. From here, we were able to venture out each day to discover more of the Lakes, taking in the stunning scenery, picturesque villages, peaceful tarns and dramatic mountain views that make this area so special. Of course, no visit would be complete without plenty of stops along the way to take photographs and appreciate the ever-changing landscape. Four days gave us a wonderful opportunity to explore at our own pace, revisit familiar places and discover new ones, although there is always so much more to see. The Lake District never disappoints, with its beautiful scenery and quiet corners that make every visit memorable, and Lodge in the Vale provided a lovely base from which to enjoy our latest adventure.
