With the overnight arrival of 4 inches of fresh snow blanketing the area, it made for an opportune time to visit a few area highlight for a hike. Joined by a couple of good friends as well a complete social afternoon came together. Combine that with the opportunity to make some new images, it really can’t get any better than that for a Saturday.
We wandered around the trails at Blakeney, the spring run has started and the ice is starting to break up along the rapids here. Next stop was at the Mill of Kintail Conservation area, had the place almost to ourselves. The winds were picking up and we were constantly showered in snow dropping from the big pines and maples all along the trails. Last stop was in Almonte to check out the waterfalls near the old mill on the main street and a stop at the Barley Mow pub for food and some cold drinks.
Perfect unplanned Saturday wander!
